Energy Work Basics Part 1: So What is Energy?
Everything is made of energy. Atoms, molecules, light, sound and color have energy. Our bodies are made of energy. Thoughts, emotions, actions and environments have energy.
All forms of energy have a vibration or frequency. David Hawkins measured the frequency of emotions. In "Power vs. Force", he reported shame has the lowest vibration at 20, anger vibrated at 150, acceptance vibrated at 350, love vibrated at 500 and enlightenment vibrated above 700.
Now, take a moment and test this out:
1) Think of a time when you were sad or fearful.
2) Notice how you feel.
3) Think of a time when you were really happy and joyful.
4) Notice how you feel.
5) What was different between the two experiences?
It is likely the lower vibration emotions of sadness or fear felt heavier to you. And the higher vibration emotions of love, peace and joy felt lighter to you.
The point here is that each of us has an energy field. The energy of our thoughts and feelings extends beyond our physical bodies and affects the spaces around us. So, whatever you are thinking and feeling goes beyond you and influences people around you. In turn, other people's thoughts and feelings influence you.
Have you ever walked into a house and felt uncomfortable even though there was nothing obvious to be concerned about? That's the energy left behind from whatever lower vibration thoughts and emotions were being experienced in that house. Even when the people who live there aren't home, the "heavy" energy still hangs around.
The good news is you can learn to work with energy. You can consciously work with energy in a competent way. That can make a big difference in your life. And that's what SPIRIT Connections is all about.
In Energy Work Basics Part 2, you'll explore what lifts your spirit.
Karen Titanich and Bonnie Hutchinson of SPIRIT Connections work with the energy of people, places and situations. Discover the secrets of working with energy. Visit http://www.spiritconnections.com
What Legacy Are We Leaving Our Children?
Children can seem exhausting, annoying, wonderful, loud and funny all at the same time. They are a lot of work especially in the beginning years but what we need to realize is that they are our future so what we do with them in the early to teen years is important because they will become the leaders while we behold the golden years. How we raise them now affects how our future is in our later years and in theirs. When you see how our current situation is with illiteracy in schools, and crime, it can seem daunting to us.
Beautiful Day Blues
The massive orb dominates the aqua crystalline backdrop of its own making, floods its rays on everything below. The sky devoid of a single cloud seems as empty as I feel and the beach looks like an arid desert, molded by tireless wind and blazing heat. I picture myself atop an Arabian camel, parched with thirst, crossing an unforgiving series of never-ending dunes, up one and down the next, no rhyme nor reason, only the nose of the animal in front of me.

Life is what happens to you, while you are making other plans. ( John Lennon )
Everybody is Somebody
I wrote about my life and all that I have had to go through. I also ended that story with a little bit about how my life has since changed, but I want to take it further.I want you to see me how I was then and how I am now.Am I changed much?Yes, I am no longer the person who went through all those things.
Have You Lost Focus?
What is Passion?
What is passion? Recently after a presentation, I was once again thanked for my passion. The compliment was genuinely given, as was my returned thank you. However, as the day progressed, my thoughts kept returning to what really is passion? For the next several days as I attempted to ponder this question, other questions surfaced. What does it mean when one has passion? What separates people with passion and those without passion? Is passion always positive? Could passion be negative? Is there a relationship between passion and purpose? How does it fit me?
I call myself semi-retired. I work at a job that takes up 5 hours of my day, 5 days a week. I go home and I lock myself in my office and I work on the computer for 5-6 hours a day. I try and break up my routine by doing household chores in between times when I become brain dead. On the weekend I go out for breakfast and cruise the mall, check out some book stores and go shopping.
Victory is an Accomplishment
Did you ever watch a bird in flight? Especially ducks or geese as they take off from the water? The take off is not the soaring grace of flight; it is a struggle, an accomplishment to get the bird out of the water and into the air. The REAL victory of flight is not the feat of soaring on air currents to a final destination, once in flight the bird has relative ease from his struggles. The real victory is in getting past the struggles of starting, just getting out of the muck.
Inspiration From Jack Dempsey
I really like Jack Dempsey's great one liner: "A champion is someone who gets up when he can't."
Finding Hope In Trying Times
Growing up, as a child of the 60's, peace, love and harmony were the words being chanted by the hippies, flower children and all who questioned authority and were against the Vietnam War. I remember thinking how I couldn't wait to grow up. I knew in my young mind it was only a matter of time before these youthful rebels would age and mature and eventually be able to take their place in the world of politics and public opinion. With it, they would be able to change all the things they saw wrong with the "establishment" from a place of power and influence and not from the streets.

Love Thy Neighbor
I would like to take a moment to write about our neighbors. We all have them. They could live right next door to you or miles away. We all still have them. The bible quotes, you should love your neighbor as yourself. I was always taught from a very, yong age to help and respect your neighbors and people in general. Back in the old days people depended on the help of their neighbors and you could always depend on them in return. I am pretty lucky to have the neighbors I have. I am surrounded by good people. I would like to think I have also been a good neighbor.Where I live now, I am surrounded by people, living in an apartment really puts you up close and personal to everyone who lives around you.

Everyone Has Been Hurt...Part 1
I want to share some things with you that I usually don't share with many people. To be honest not many people do know the whole story and that is because I don't really trust many people with this. Anyways here goes..
Brilliance in Balance
"For everything you have missed, you have gained something else; and for everything you gain, you lose something else." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Remember when you were really young? It was an era of inconsequential innocence. Even at this age, your imagination was larger than large. Seemingly effortlessly, you concocted boldacious thoughts and dreams. You could pretty much imagine and then do anything you set out to do.
Adages for the New Age
The old familiar adages just don't do it for me any more. For instance, consider "the early bird gets the worm." In this age of freelancing, premature ejaculation and peaking too early in one's career (by age 24) a more appropriate adage might be "The early bird dies earlier."
Inspirations: Even More Things Ive Noticed Along the Way So Far
Some people live in and talk about the past so much it's as if they are "planning for the past."
