In the Aftermath of Mankind

It is life, time for breathing deep, sighs and touching without fingers. Hummingbirds whizzing by my ears, the striking fear of that buzzing sound, so large and loud. Only they can scare me.

A Beautiful Mind is a Simple Mind!!

In the movie ?A Beautiful Mind? John Nash (played by Russell Crowe) is a schizophrenic math genius who struggles with is inability to have peace of mind. In one scene he bangs his head on the window until it bleeds, begging his mind to slow down, all the while having a conversation with his imaginary roommate, Charles.

Jesus wants A Few Good Men! Living A Life You Always Wanted!

Jack Nicholson (Col. Jessup) (marine cornel) YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH ?.Son, we live a worldthat has walls and those walls have to be guardedby men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt.Weinburg? I have more responsibility here than youcould possibly fathom. You curse the marines. Youhave that luxury. You have that luxury of notknowing what I know. And that my existence asgrotesque and incomprehensible to you, saveslives. I know down deep in places you don't wantto talk about, you don't want me on that wall, youneed me on that wall. We use words like HONOR,CODE, and LOYALTY. We use these words as the verybackbone of a life spent defending something. Youuse them as a punch line. I have neither the timenor the inclination to explain myself to a man whorises and sleeps under the blanket of the veryfreedom I provide. I prefer you to just say thankyou and go on your way. Otherwise, I suggest youpick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, Idon't give a crap what you think you are entitledto!" (end of scene)

Lance Armstrong had it Right-- Every Second Does Counts!

I have been counseling people on weight loss, exercise efficiency and nutrition for over twenty years. Every time I go to the gym I observe people, their training tactics and their workout habits. Over the last few years I have noticed something about certain people in the gym that has been interesting. You would think more people would do this but they don?t. What I have noticed is certain people have a habit or process they go through when they workout that most do not. What is interesting is, before I even realize that they do it, I can tell by the way their bodies look that they have this habit. They are leaner, healthier looking, and stronger than most.

Failure Is Never As Painful As Regret!

"I would rather regret some of my failures in lifethan to live my life failing to forget myregrets." GR

First Things First-- Balancing Your Priorities!

I'm not sure Paul had the Japanese culture in mindat the time when he writes, "Seek ye first theKingdom of God and all other things will be addedunto you." I'm not sure how much popularity thebible has in Japan today either. Yet, it seems asthough the Japanese people have at least onebiblical principle figured out. In the book,"First Things First", Steven Covey helps usunderstand how and why the Japanese people thinkhow they do and accomplish so much more thanAmerican's in a same twenty-four hour period.Covey explains, that we can divide all our dailytasks into two main areas of our lives. One areais the Important/Urgent-NOT Urgent area and thesecond consists of tasks in the NOT Important/NOTUrgent area.

In forty-seven tries he placed inthe top ten eight times and three of them werepreviously placing third in The Masters, yet henever could win the big one. He developed areputation of choking in the last rounds neverable to finish on top of the leaderboard.

Jesus the Great Teacher --Lessons Learned!

I don't know of anyone who really liked takingtests in school if you did there is somethingseriously wrong with you. It just seemed asthough some breezed through while people likemyself always struggled. Life is not fair!!!! Somecall it tests anxiety. I think I just concentratedon trying not to get the answer wrong instead ofrelaxing and allowing my brain to find the answerin my head. Most times the next day I could dobetter because of no pressure. Second golf shotsare like that too! So when I received my testscores back all I noticed were the red marks anddisappointments instead of how many right answersI had out of one hundred. Having said that, perfect test scores were few and far between formost of us I think.

Years ago a commercial ran for eggo waffles. Itshowed two small children grabbing an eggo wafflepopping out of the toaster, yelling, "Let go of myeggo!!" We didn't see what transpired between thetwo, yet I have to believe one of two thingshappened; one of the children would have given inand let go or the waffle would have been torn into small pieces.
