Retail Customer Opportunities for Pressure Washing Companies
Pressure washing companies must look for customers in the retail industry to make sure they stay busy. Large Box Stores and Grocery Stores are often you best customers in that regard. Cleaning concrete or doing "flat work" makes sense for a number of reasons, 1.) It is not labor intensive like washing trucks; 2.) Routine scheduled customers make the work extremely easy; 3.) Generally you do not have to worry about not getting paid for work completed, as the corporate offices will pay you, even if they are sometimes a little slow to pay.
Over the past 20-years my company has done well cleaning for grocery store chains and large retailers. Sometimes they have many outlets and they give you a list and you can work thru the night without hassle. Additionally there is a good business to be done in cleaning shopping carts as well; at $1.00 per cart this adds up fast. Since most all of your cleaning is done after hours to reduce the possibility of any public liability is rare although most all corporate customers will expect you to maintain one million in liability insurance. Part of our company's easy sales closures has been due to our:
Strict adherence to scheduling
Low cost to stay within budgets
Expensive equipment (No down time)
Quality workmanship (Do it right the first time)
Longevity of managers and crew-members
If you can concentrate on these items you will have many large corporate customers remain loyal for years on end. Customizing your services to their needs to be your specialty, you must listen and let the company tell you what is to be cleaned and how they expect it to look and then all you need to do is perform. With a pressure washer you can clean almost anything. Things such as:
Delivery Trucks and Vans
Holiday Window Paint
It should also be noted that when you are looking over these stores you will find additional cleaning needs. If it is simple you should do it and tell them it has been done, as sort of fringe benefit. If it is something large let them know that; "we found a few areas we know that you are concerned about such as:" and you will find yourself with extra work. Always ask for referrals and invite the company to please call if they would like you to bid on anything else. Think on this and Wash On!

Buying a Business
Start thinking about buying an established business if you want to avoid the immense risks involved in starting one. Not everyone wants to start a business from scratch, and buying a business with the infrastructure in place lets you focus on building it up, as opposed to getting a new business off the ground. This is not to say that it's easy to buy an existing business; it's a fairly complicated process throughout which you need to know exactly what you're doing.

Basic Psychology of Franchisee Ownership and Expansion
If you are a franchisee of a large franchise system; before you expand your franchise to include more stores there are some questions you might ask yourself. If, however, you bought your franchise to expand, grow and amass a small empire of your own, your franchisor will be the last person to stand in your way. Franchisors applaud those who are true entrepreneurs and believe in no limits. Your Franchisor will help you achieve your goals, even if they have to be the ones who push you over the top. Image is Everything - Secrets to Cleaning Car Fleets
A recent survey indicated that clean Taxi Cabs Fleets have higher tip rates and repeat customers. How do you wash a taxicab? You do them four at a time and you go up and over and up and over when you are drying them. If they have a little taxi cab sign, dry that last. But you do the rest of the car the way you do a regular car. The only difference is you are going to spray three, four, five, sometimes six cars at a time. Then another crewmember is going to follow behind you and do all the windows really well. You do a quick vacuum with a taxicab. Seriously, you do not want to be in that taxicab for more then a minute or a minute and a half. Now most taxicabs are usually scratched and they look like crap. This is something you are going to have to deal with. This is just the way they are going to look which is good for you because they are not expecting a perfect job. They just want them to look clean because they have their logo on them. Taxi companies are very low budget operations and low cost will get you the account. Some taxicabs are owned by independent contractors. You will need to charge more since the volume is not there. Staging areas at big airports are a good place to find lots of taxicabs.
Too Many Lawyers in Franchising Today
Attorneys and Lawyers are ruining the franchise industry. It is too bad too, because franchising represents over 400,000 businesses in our country and accounts for just over one-third of every consumer dollar spent in this country. By over regulating and over lawyering the industry we are weakening our free markets and suffocating our up and coming entrepreneurs.
Boston Suburban areas a good choice to run a business
BioTechs even with the latest news had shed over 1000 jobs two years ago, as it was reported by The Financial Times, WSJ, and Bloomberg that only 17 of the nearly 1300 BioTech firms were actually profitable. In 2002 the number of jobs were in the 30,000 range in Biotech. 600 layoffs came from Millennium Pharmaceuticals. And the VCs are were barely interested as they hardly even look at tech deals with all of them netting less than 3 Million in venture capital for computer software and less than 10 million in biotech in 2003. But that was then and this is now. Unemployment has dropped, money is flowing the fallout mortgage loans stopped bleeding and money is coming back for investment in all sectors. Nano and Biotech both good.
