3 Clues To Know Where You Fit In Ministry Part 1

Clue Number 1: You Have Talent

You were born with at least one talent. One talentis all you need to have fulfillment in your lifeand ministry, if you use it.

What Is a Talent?

According to Webster's Dictionary, talent is thenatural endowments of a person; or ability.

Marcus Buckingham, author of 'First Break All TheRules,' defines talent as "a recurring patternof thought, feeling, or behavior that can beproductively applied."

Talents are:
*developed through your natural ability to refinea skill and practice it until you excel.
*things and behaviors you are able to doinstinctively.
*expressed through your body and taps thepassion of your soul (mind, will and intellect).

When you are free to express your talents in your ministry, the goals you set for your lifebecome more attainable and you become moreproductive. A talent can be something as simple asan ability to remember names if channeled in a waythat is productive.

For example, one of the most important 48 hours is thetime right after a person joins your ministry. Imaginehaving a person in your ministry who served God asthe official "Connection Director." Within the first48 hours Paula joins your ministry, your "ConnectionDirector" contacts her. During a briefconversation your "Connection Director" learns thenames of household members and their interests. When they hook up during the next service your"Connection Director" introduces Paula to Sandraby name, who has similiar interests and background.

Why is this connection so important for Paula and your"Connection Director?"
