The One Thing You Really Want

There is one thing you want...

Beauty, Gratitude, and the Open Heart

??beauty on your earth is a shadow of the beauty of our heaven, and it?s a bitter thing to have a blindness for beauty on earth, for it makes a longer teaching to see the beauties of heaven.? Spoken by an Irish spirit in the book The Boy who Saw True (anonymous author).

Meatballs: Friend, or Foe?

We all have those moments, don't we? We're right in the middle of a project, and it's simply not going well.

Increase Awareness With One Simple Question

There are many ways we can increase our own personalawareness about our life and what we want to make out of it.Yet, we seldom ask the question, "Why am I doing this?" Byconsciously becoming more aware of what we do and why, wecan then make phenomenal changes. Usually in leaps andbounds. This includes losing weight, being happier, workingin a job we love, and all the rest of the things that mostof chase.

When Human Beings Take It To The Limit

In life we all have dreams and goals, aspirations to follow a certain path that will lead to social achievements and personal growth. We all hope to fulfill a destiny where we can put all of our efforts into one activity or more that helps the world in one way or another. Recently I went to see a musical group called Taikoz and I believe I was witness to a certain level of human achievement that was simply mind-blowing. These people have obviously trained and practiced so much that they have reached a level of mastery. They have taken the human life experience to the limit.

Don?t Give Up!

Don?t let anyone kid you. The road to self improvement and personal growth is not a short, straight, well-marked, paved highway. Looking back on my journey, I see a road meandering over hills and through valleys, around sharp curves and over muddy trails, with occasional boulders blocking my way. I can remember taking detours that took me off the beaten path and on to cow paths that wandered seemingly forever through the puckerbrush. It?s been a long interesting journey.

Take Action and Make a Better World

Albert Einstein is quoted as having said, "the world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it".

The River of Life

I?ve always loved the awesome majesty of mountains. They are, however, the byproduct of the rivers that formed them: flowing, adjusting, carving, crashing and gently nurturing the land and animals along the way. The river carves its way through, and the mountains answer as towers of strength. Like the river, our lives are forever moving and changing, shaping us as the water shapes the land it flows through.

The Climbs In Our Lives

I grew up climbing mountains. Mountains are beautiful and challenging, majestic and all powerful. They also have lessons to teach us: lessons about life and how to live it.

Big-Wave Mindfulness: Surfing For A Connection

Surfing is mindfulness in action. Riding the biggest waves is an all-out, fully-present-or-die-trying proposition.

The Most Powerful Question Ever Asked?

What if every experience in your life is sent to you so you can understand who you are and what your life is all about?

FEAR Don?t Let it Control You!

Fear. What is it? Can you touch it? Can you hold it? Can you show it to another person? I can almost hear you from where I am sitting. No, no, no. Okay then, so you can?t touch it, you can?t hold it, and you can?t show it to another person. The question then is, why? Why do we have fear? Fear is nothing more than an emotion or a feeling that we hold in our mind. We fear either the emotional or physical pain something may cause. The problem is, these emotions and feeling affect the way we live our lives. We fear doing certain things because we think we might fail. This may be due to past failures we have actually experienced or it may be due to failures we fear we might experience.

Just Let ?Em Go!

I remember when I was just a little guy probably about 4 or 5 years old, I was fascinated by snakes. Not any particular type of snake ? just snakes in general. I remember being really curious about how they could move around so easily without any legs or feet. I remember liking the colors on the garter snakes that slithered through our Nebraska summer garden.

Opening Hearts is as Easy as Opening a Window

Two-year-old Owen goes to speech therapy twice a week. The therapist?s office is small and gloomy. There is one large window, but the shade is always down and very little light comes through. Each time we go there, I can?t help but feel depressed by the atmosphere.

Navigating The Squeeze

Today more than ever before, we are witnessing a crises of consciousness over the validity of war versus the power of humility, integrity, understanding and diplomacy. Simultaneously those who are spiritual seekers ponder the purpose and mission of their immortal souls.
